Bora Yoon + BToven Music remixx NYPBora Yoon and Brian McKenna (Btoven Music) remix the rapturous modern day / early music group, New York Polyphony. A new work by Andrew Smith, entitled “Surrexit Cristus”, released in its original form on full-length record “Tudor City” — now in its 3rd week in the Top Ten on the Classical Charts on Billboard!
A lush sound collage, propelled by rhythmic pulses and bass sweeps, that melds Smith’s chilling harmonies with whispered excerpts from Emily Dickinson’s “Because I could not stop for Death,” found sounds, and the ghost remnants of phonograph remains. A true definition of a ghost track. Additional tracks include the original mix of Surrexit Christus from New York Polyphony’s acclaimed 2010 Avie Records release Tudor City (AV2186) and the previously unreleased Beata progenies, a composition by the 15th century English composer Lionel Power.” Get it now on iTunes!
